PRESS RELEASE

Local Chefs to Host Slow Motion Fundraiser on Golden Pond

Wolfville, N.S – On August 15, 2009, food enthusiasts will have an opportunity to experience a once in a lifetime summer dining event at Slow Food Nova Scotia’s premier fundraiser for the SLOW MOTION Food Film Fest.

A spectacular six-course tasting dinner, available for 12 people only, will be prepared by Chef Michael Howell (Tempest Restaurant) and Chef Craig Flinn (Chives Bistro). The exclusive dinner will be held at a private island estate on Little River Lake, Kings County.

“In celebration of the hit film Bottle Shock, which will be screened at SLOW MOTION, Craig and I will recreate signature dishes from famous American Chefs,” says Chef Michael Howell. “The dishes will be paired with flagship American wines selected by Bishop’s Cellar.”

The evening begins at 4:00 p.m. with a welcome reception at Tempest Restaurant and an unveiling of the SLOW MOTION Food Film Fest program. Dinner guests will then be transferred by limousine to the Golden Pond Estate. Upon arrival they will be welcomed by the estate owners and then enjoy the pastoral scenery of Little River Lake, or enjoy a short session of fly fishing with renowned guide Perry Munroe. Dinner will commence at 6:00 p.m. and will include the following courses:
