Hot & Spicy Beer Wings

Try this spicy twist on your standard Chicken Wings and watch your friends run to the fridge for another beer! We like matching these wings with a light lager or pilsner, something that is easy to drink and that helps to take that fire out of your mouth! CAUTION: THESE WINGS ARE NOT FOR THE TIMID!

Ingredients:
1 – 1.5 kg of Chicken Drummettes (not drumsticks!)
6 Bottles of beer – 1 to marinate the chicken,
5 to drink while you are preparing the food!
3-4 Tablespoons of Garlic Powder
3-4 Tablespoons of Oregano
3-4 Tablespoons of Poultry Seasoning
1-2 Tablespoons of Black Pepper
1-2 Tablespoons of Salt
1-2 Tablespoons of Chili Peppers

Garnish & Sauce:
1 whole English cucumber sliced
3 cups of baby carrots
1 cup of Louisiana style hot sauce (I usually use Frank’s Red Hot,
hot sauce, but any
cayenne based hot sauce is fine)
1-2 tablespoons of Pepper Sauce

¼ cup of melted butter

Procedures:
Preheat the oven to 425.

Chicken:
Marinate the chicken drummettes in beer in a large bowl. Pour the entire contents,
including the beer into a well-greased pan large enough to accommodate the beer and the chicken drummettes. Spread the chicken drummettes out on the pan evenly ensuring they have space to breath.

Sprinkle the various spices on the drummettes and ensure that they are evenly covered.  Place the entire contents into the oven for 45 minutes – 1 hour, if you want the wings extra crispy, drain the liquid after 30 minutes.

Garnish & Sauce:
While the drummettes are in the oven we can prepare the dipping sauce. Take the melted
butter and add the Louisiana hot sauce. Wisk the mixture and separate into two small dipping bowls. Add the 1-2
tablespoons of Pepper Sauce to one of the small bowls and
mix thoroughly (make sure you mark this as your "Fire" sauce!. Arrange the cucumber and carrots around the outside of the serving plate and place the two hot sauces at either side of the plate.

Take the chicken drummettes out of the oven and place them on the plate, drizzle a little
hot sauce on the chicken wings and enjoy!
